First time on a cruise for me, Anthem was fabulous, our balcony cabin was spotless, ships cleanliness overall was great. Dining experience was also great, Windjammer was a tad over crowded at times, but i think we just went during its busiest times. The main dining rooms were great, did not care for the decor at silk so we switched to Americana Grille, but our waitstaff was fabulous.

The Bahamas however, were a massive disappointment to me. Bad weather caused us to miss Coco Cay and head straight to Nassau... what an awful city that is. We left out of Bayonne NJ, if i wanted to visit a ghetto, i could just go into parts of NYC for that. Right off the boat you are bombarded by locals trying to prey on tourists. The 2nd day in Nassau we decided to book an excursion so we didn't have to be near that awful city again, the shore excursion lady suggested Pearl island as it had good snorkeling. Yet again, weather caused snorkeling to be canceled but we could still go to the island for the day and it had snorkeling spots... definitely did not. The "beach" on the island is maybe 80 yards total? and they have nets up that you cannot go further out. Also brought far too many people to island itself. The small beach and water area was over crowded. Should have kept my money and just got a ride to a different beach.

Crappy ports of call experience aside, we have a wonderful time on Anthem of the Seas, i just would never step foot in Nassau again. I'm glad we didn't have our kids with us, because i would be afraid to take small children into that place.
