Our cruise on the Rhine River from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam was a once in a lifetime experience for us! My husband had been stationed in Mannheim, Germany and had always wanted to go back. Everything was wonderful! We enjoyed listening to Sabrina every day and were entranced by an evening concert of exquisite guitar playing and singing by two lovely young women. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the cruise director very amusing and informative. The excursions were lovely and very interesting. I only wish we had hit the gym a couple months before our cruise so we could have taken full advantage of all that was offered. A special thank you goes out to the chef and friendly waiters and waitresses! The food and service was extraordinary! We loved the intimacy and making new friends that a smaller ship makes possible . Those that we met who had taken an ocean cruise enjoyed the smaller group atmosphere on a river cruise as well. All in all, if we can save up for another river cruise it will definitely be with Viking!
