My husband and I drove down last minute having gotten a nice deal and I wanted to try out a new ship.
Overall the ship has a very nice layout. It never felt crowded and that was with 4800+ on our sailing. It is made for the north with so many fantastic indoor spaces which are especially pleasant on the first two and last two days when it is chilly outside. The decor is very modern being only a couple years old. The elevators were pretty sufficient considering the occupancy.
The staff were by far the least friendly I have had in my 12 cruises. The cruise before ours had a noro virus outbreak so there was extra cleaning happening on our cruise and I'm not sure if that put the crew over their limit but you did not see crew smiling or happy. There was one buffet greater that was always very pleasant and made origami each night to pass out to guests, and once at cafe two70 a server joked with me. Our room steward was Tuti and she did a great job and always had a smile. Dennis the cruise director was better than average and was all around the ship.
Cabin was very nice. It was more spacious than many we have had on other ships (a mix of inside, oceanview, and balcony). We didn't have high expectations for the virtual balcony but it was surprisingly nice. It was very clear. Being a live feed it was handy to have in the morning to see if it was light out yet. It is a joint cabin, but we never heard the people beside and I know there was someone there as I did see them going in once. The cabin doors are loud and we often heard others coming or going across the hall from us. Never had noise from above or below.
