Sail Date: Sep 2017
Cabin: Large Ocean-View Stateroom

The Zaandam lived up to our four star mariner expectations clean, we'll run, great food, no sickness in 38 days, much better entertainment than in the past, the best staff in the world from captain to cabin boy. Good itinery of places that are hard to get to except at great expense making this very good value for money. Sea day activities were lacking especially to those who are regular holland America guest as things such as BBC trivea and films

And test kitchen are repeated on a two week schedule. Most ports had inexpensive tours offered on the dock we did one in nearly every port. They were very reasonable safe and proffessionally run. The natural beauty at the tip of South America was well worth the trip. To bird enthusiast this is heaven, so many diff kinds of sea birds it is like a nature cruise. For the first boat of the season the weather was ver good we even had great weather in Stanley the Falklands although to earlier to go to the king penguins as track still to wet for vehicles

Punta Arenas

Got cheap shuttle into town went to museums, wi fi cafe and lovely old house. Great day

Stanley

It was Sunday and voting day so lots shut in town. Boat guide gave erroneous info

Saying prison museum closed we were dissapointed to have missed it. There appear to be some good boat tours that can be booked on land

Punta del Este

Took a cheap van tour just ok for a just ok place

Montevideo

Rained really heavily so took a walk and ran back to ship

Huatulco

Took van tour picked up on pier good value much cheaper than the boat and longer

Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

Boat guide gave erroneous info that prison museum was closed due to voting day

So waisted our time. Looked like there were boat tours offered outside port
