Sail Date: Nov 2017
Cabin: Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Let's get the rotten things out of the way first:

Not just a late embarkation, but vague, smarmy excuses instead of real information.

No library. At all. Except for a very few "give and takes."

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VH

This cabin was partially obstructed by lifeboats but had a slightly better view than the ones all along this hallway. It had floor to ceiling windows like a balcony, and actually had a little deck outside but it was for working on the lifeboats and was often occupied by guys in overalls. I appreciated the extra light and didn't mind the working guys, just check quickly before changing clothes, until the early morning they started using noisy power tools out there a few inches from my head. I don't recommend this room for this reason though it seems this was the only lifeboat they worked on all cruise, so it might be fine another time.

No drawers except nightstand and under bed. Lots of hanging space. Small bathtub and the water never did that nasty weird smell so common on cruises.

FOUR USB ports. Wow!

Port Reviews

Aruba

Very hot. Walking along the road paralleling the shore we came to a park with a cold water fountain. You can get a local bus just off to the right off the boat dock, one block back. Gorgeous beaches.

Corinto

It was really poor. Shacks hiding in the palms around the beach. Pedi cab guy named a price and then more than doubled it after the ride. If I had it to do over I would just buy a few little pots and dishes on the shore and get back on the boat. Beach rather dirty.

The statue on the island you see entering the port is Fidel Castro.

Huatulco

Took a HAL excursion that shortchanged everyone by about a half hour.

Puerto Vallarta

Nice port. Save on taxi by walking across the road and getting it at Walmart. Pretty.

Puerto Quetzal (Antigua)

Went up to Antigua, colonial capital of Central America. Not a great outing. The vendors were annoyingly, extraordinarily aggressive. Don't even make eye contact.
