This is the 4th time we have done the identical Cruise on Eclipse. We choose it because of the Itinerary. Food was again excellent as are the personal on the ship. We love swimming and know how to easily get to all the beaches. We were a bit disappointed in Aruba this time. We think Aruba is trying so hard to bring tourists to the island, both by cruise ship and by air, but have not the infrastructure ready to accommodate the tourists. When we were there in April we found Palm Beach very crowded, and there was difficulty in getting chairs. This time we tried Eagle Beach, on a day that there was only 1 other much smaller ship in and it was difficult and very expensive. To us $25. US for 2 chairs - no umbrella, is out of line. In Curacao, the day before we had paid $14 US for 2 chairs, a fixed umbrella and entrance to the park. Also at Eagle Beach , in Aruba there were charging $7 US for a 7oz. size of beer, and the day before at Mambo beach in Curacao, we had paid $5. US for a 12oz size. We do not like being gouged. This has nothing to do with Celebrity but I would suggest that 2 days in Aruba is 2 days too long!
The only thing missing was a magnifying mirror
We had a great tour and shared it with 7 other people
We were not impressed when we inquired at the Tourist Information and were told, very emphatically, that there had been no damage on Antigua from the Hurricanes. We knew that there had been damage done and this was a lie. We then asked taxi drivers and some others and did find out that Dickinson Beach had lost a lot of its sand but Runaway Bay was a better bet.
We always go to Rodney Bay and enter the beaches through the St. Lucia Hotel. The beach is beautiful.
Barbados is our very favourite island, and the beaches are superb!
Bonaire is a wonderful place to snorkel
We enjoy Curacao for walking around the port and over the bridge. It is also great swimming at Mombo Beach and snorkelling, next door, in front of the Aquarian.
This had become our least favourite but didn't used to be. They haven't the infrastructure to supply the tourists. The people renting out the umbrellas and chairs are gouging and also the small bars on the beach are charging US $7 for a 7 oz bottle of beer.
