Overall I would say that Carnival Pride delivered on my recent cruise. We choose to leave out of Baltimore because it is close to home. Not Carnivals fault but our Ship was delayed due to weather. We had a 4 hour time delay. This would have been okay but NO ONE listened to the add 4 hours to your time instructions and everyone showed up whenever they wanted making the check in process a long mess. Our muster drill finally occurred at 9pm. I feel that it was very taxing on the travelers as well as the staff of the ship who had a very very long day. The ship is often late due to weather and I feel that the port staff need a better system to make the late departure go more smoothly.
Once on board things were great. My only reason for not 5 starts on dining is the slowness of the dining room most nights - up to two hours at the table is a bit much! Great food but long waits. Loved Guys burgers and Blue Iguana - breakfast burritos are a must!!!
The shows were excellent and I don't know why more people do not attend - you must go to the shows!!!! Comedy was also excellent. Our Steward Eduardo was WONDERFUL! Love him!!!!
Extended balcony was well worth the money - coffee on the balcony while watching sunrise cannot be beat! Never go without a balcony!
No excursion is needed at this port! The beach experience itself is excellent. Volleyball, beach games, food, and of course the ocean are already provided for you! Plenty of lounge chairs and shade can be found. Also a few shops with venders if you want them. Fun Staff had beach activities all day and you can also walk to quieter areas if you want. Bring snorkeling gear and check out the fish!
We visited the area right off the ship - lots of venders and live music. Also two bars and food if you want to purchase it. A very pleasant stop. Easier than traveling to an excursion.
