We booked this cruise because we wanted to go to San Juan and St. Thomas. Oh well. We enjoyed the cruise. BIG ship, met lots of folks. (Never saw anything about the cruise critic meet and greet though!)
Cucina del Capitano was excellent - we went for dinner one night, and that $15 was well worth it. Had a branzino dish that was excellent, and they just kept pushing food on us -"you need more appetizers!" All the food there was good.
Loved my omelets every morning in the buffet, along with my grits. No idea why anyone eats those pre-made eggs. Never waited long for my omelet.
The room was nice. Had king sized bed and the twin bed for my son. We had two closets for hanging items and one to place items on shelves. we each had a shelf. Plenty of room for our clothes, and in the bathroom enough room for our toiletries. The balcony was nice. I have to say this room and balcony was smaller than the balcony room on the Pride. The Pride was in Nassau at the same time we were, and we could see that the balcony door on the Pride opened out without touching the wall between cabins. The desk in that room had shelves able to accommodate six packs of soda, while this one had smaller spaces.
Went to Sosua in a cab to Castillo Mundo King - a museum. Cab was $120 rt. We stopped at a restaurant with the driver and ate Dominican food. We treated him to lunch. Museum was about $7-$10 p/p. Interesting drive to see all the folks on scooters and the way they travel. No issues with 3 people on a scooter. Saw 3 and a dog! Our driver noted that he avoided scooters and motorcycles - dangerous. We enjoyed ourselves. Got back on time. Spur of the moment trip.
