We have just completed a 32 day cruise around Australia. On a positive note the staff were fantastic with great service with a smile and always ready to go the extra mile. The food in all restaurants was of a good standard though a little salty for our liking. Excellent choice in the Lido for lunch and great burgers and fries. The entertainment was very lacking with the production shows were well done we have seen the same shows5 times in the last 12 months on HAL it is time they were updated. The movies on the tV were old movies and repeated over and over with a news channels being the only alternative. Most of the activities were aimed at sales with jewellery talks, art auctions, spa seminars, wine tasting and foot analysis. What has happened to deck games, craft lessons,on deck parties and bbqs,we are there to be entertained and it seems everything has been cost cut with lots of activities have been stopped.! The cruise director was never visible except at one trivia and opening the shows, there was definite lack of things to do. We were in the tropical weather for 32 days but nothing organised out on the decks day or party’s at night such a shame. We had a vista suite 201at the aft of the ship which was a good spot except they were doing maintenance on the whole cruise so impossible to use the balcony with paint and varnish fumes and orange paint flakes blowing in on us from the promenade below where they were redoing the lifeboats. Not great considering how much extra we had paid above the ocean view cabin. The ship public areas are quite nice but the suites are very tired with old chipped baths no sun filter curtains replaced since they were taken down so it’s either open or closed curtains when the sun is hot. If it wasn’t for the fantastic staff and the size of the ship the cruise wasn’t a complete disaster.

Great staff and great service but is it enough?
