We chose this cruise on L'Austral as the pre and post cruise land tours gave us the opportunity to visit both the amazing Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Bagan in Myanmar.
Both of these tours were fantastic and we saw so much.
We very much enjoy travelling on the small ships these days, we find Ponant suits our taste and you do get to know the crew and many of the other passengers on such a small ship.
With the choice of the casual buffet on Deck 6 where you can dine inside or out,or the more formal restaurant on Deck 2, you have the best of both worlds.
Cabins are very tastefully decorated in muted tones and there is a seperate toilet to the bathroom which proves far more convenient.
Whilst you do not have the selection of entertainment found on the larger ships, we find the smaller production shows quite adequate.
The shore excursions offered onboard are usually very good and Ponant quite often provide some of the excursions free of charge.
Overall we would definitely recommend Ponant especially the expedition cruises.
Not a lot to see in KL
