RCI do not tell you before you go that you have to pay for many of the activities on board. We had a eight night cruise on a tired ship that had been remodelled four years ago to give extra rooms and take away activity areas as well as fitting hard beds . The overall experience was at best six out of ten and the smoking areas were appalling as there were many children in with the smokers ie on the pool deck. The shopping area lacked variety and the sales were a shambles even though the crew did their best to organise everything.

Once items were selected for purchase long lines were formed to complete the purchase. If you wanted a seat by the pool it was almost impossible to get one. the adults only pool area was too small and we were disturbed often by parents and children walking and running through the area. Better thought needed to be put into this layout because it does not work as it is. the dining room experience was sad as the food was served lukewarm and the variety was small and lacked that extra something that you expect on board a cruise line of this stature and price. The waiters did their best to help but many times what they had to serve up was below standard.
