We expected to see a beautiful countryside with tropical landscaping.  Instead we saw a tremendous amount of trash pretty much everywhere, especially in front of houses, empty lots, local streets etc.  What is needed on the island is the institution of a state wide 'Litter Patrol' program that  will canvass each neighborhood for violators and issue fines for those who do not clean their   respective areas.  In addition, there is a terrible dog problem on the island.  There are many stray dogs which contribute to the spreading of trash by knocking over trash cans looking for food.  This problem can be easily solved by fixing the male dogs in order to decrease the procreation rate and eventually the problem will be resolved.

The Belizian Hot Sauce and Garifunda tour was excellent!  We learned a lot about local customs and how the Mayans became integrated with the peoples of Africa.

The guide was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly!  Learned a lot about how the Mayan Calendar was created and updated.
The only negative at this port was that there was no golf cart service for those who have limited mobility issues.  It would be advisable for all the cruise lines who visit Mexican ports to invest in some golf carts to accommodate those who have limited mobility or cannot walk long distances.

The tour was exceptional, and Alex our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the Mayan culture and explained all the artifacts in detail, including a tour of the replicas of all the different temples and buildings in Mexico.
Again, the only negative was that there was no golf cart service available at the landing area.  Hopefully, all the cruise lines will recognize this and jointly supply golf cart service for those who have limited mobility.

The tours we took were very informative and we learned a lot about the customs and culture of the Mayan people.Although my wife has limited mobility, we were able to secure 4 interesting tours on which she was able to use her portable wheel chair.
