This was my first NCL cruise, although I've sailed on many of the other cruise lines. This was also my first solo cruise. I'm pleased with my choice and had a really enjoyable cruise.
NCL is truly fantastic when it comes to accommodating solo travelers, I was able to cruise on this sailing with a 0% single supplement. This one detail is huge and it meant more funds to do more fun things on the actual trip. I got a run of ship inside cabin and was pleased with a 8th level aft cabin.
The Jade had just gone through a facelift earlier in the year and the results are fantastic. Everything on the ship felt clean, in good, order and modern. The size of the ship is also really good and it rarely felt too crowded, too big, or even too small.
Recently updated with the ship's refresh, I found this cabin to be both extremely well located and extremely comfortable. For an 11 night sailing the bed is key and the bed in this room was very comfortable, I also appreciated a large selection of pillows. The room is very dark with the lights out so I was happy I brought a little LED light. Bathroom is good, and the shower is great. I felt really at home in this little cabin.
There is a water taxi that goes from the restaurant right next to the ship to "little boniare" with excellent snorkeling. Get a snorkel from Amazon before the trip and you've got a day's worth of activity for under $20.
Charming city, be sure to go over the bridge and then left to the Venezuelan market. Down the street from the market is Plaza Bieu, a perfect spot for lunch!
Grab a cab and ask to go to the Holiday Inn, It's at the center of a nice long beach. Lots of people but the water and sand are stunning.
I put my heaphones on and blasted music as I made my way through the sea of people trying to get my attention. There are beaches away from it all to find and good jerk chicken. Ask the crew, they'll point you in the right direction.
