We chose this cruise just a few weeks before it sailed as the mini-suites had been discounted significantly and we had always wanted to do a southern Caribbean cruise . Overall the cruise was quite enjoyable with no big issues. We found the staff very friendly and our only wish was that Princess would provide more information on shore excursions that were not geared to shopping.

We had a some small issues at the Symphony Restaurant. I had ordered my filet-mignon done "medium". It came "well done" with a fair amount of grizzle. My waiter re-ordered another meal and this time it came "rare". The maitre'd offered a 3rd attempt but I refused as we were going to the theater. He took our room number to investigate what was happening in the kitchen. Another time I had ordered a glass of wine which I thought tasted "off". I asked for a replacement of another type which seemed to baffle the waiter. He wasn't sure how to handle this saying it had already been charged to my account and got the maitre'd. After about twenty minutes I finally got a replacement.

The entertainment was well done but be aware that the theater is relatively small for the size of the ship, so get there early to get a seat (especially when there are only 2 shows a night). You have to be patient with the elevators as some times they even by pass your floor for some reason. The stairs are a good way to burn off the extra calories that the buffet put on.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

Great bed and pillows. Loved the 2 large screen tv's with lots of movies to view. Could use a smaller table on the very conservative size balcony. The room was very quiet but located equal distance from both fore and aft elevators so be prepared for a bit of a walk.

Port Reviews

Aruba

Nice port to walk around. We did an enjoyable walk on the shoreline to children's waterpark near the airport (to the right of the harbour). Lots of shopping available.

Bonaire

We walked along the shoreline to the left of the harbour. The water is amazingly clear and lots of tropical fish can be viewed form the pathway. Shops are near the pier.

Princess Cays

Enjoyed the efficient disembarkation from the ship. An open air ferry was used which could accommodate more passengers than the ships own tenders. Lots of lounges available with a barbeque lunch free to everone.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Take a cab to the ship as its quicker and cheaper than pre-arranged transport.

Martinique

Enjoyed walking around the old town. Be sure to see the old library (free to go inside).

St. Croix

We did St .Thomas. Best shopping is in the shops near the pier. (or if you want, take a 1/2 hr walk into town). Unfortunately the tram ride to the hilltop was not in operation after the hurricane.
