We went on the cruise to extend our knowledge and experiences in Japan and to extend this to Taiwan.

The ports of call were good; Okinawa and Taipei were especially good. We may have been lucky but our guide in Taipei was brilliant with an extensive knowledge of English and no broken accent. Through the guise, we made the most out of the excellent tourist sites of Taipei and the buffet lunch at The Grand Hotel was excellent.

The weather was generally good and we were fortunate to see a little sun for the last cruise of the Japan season. But we did have rain on sea days and this made the balcony an expensive luxury.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin B2

Shower fitting was awful; not very secure and hose obstructed access to soap dish controls.

Television had to be unplugged to reset and obtain programmes

Twin beds both sloped to the "centre" where former heavy-weights had sat on the edge - mattresses never turned to obviate this.

Port Reviews

Tokyo (Yokohama)

Tokyo is an excellent and easy city to tour on your own
