Was looking for a cruise near where I could go see a Miami Dolphin, and an Atlanta Falcons football game. Charleston was the best fit time and location wise. Don't get me wrong aspects of the cruise were good, but never great. The food was good in the dining room, but lousy in the buffet. Drinks were very measured on the alcohol, but with the cheers program 15 a day was plenty. One Comedian was good(Jerome) the other meh(Terranova). The crew led activities were at best bad to really terrible. (trivia by far the least entertaining, and unfortunately the most often)
Of my 12 or so cruises this was the worst. Guest services totally unfriendly, and completely unhelpful. The bartenders were by far the worst ever. Roque in the buffet area needs to find a new career. The Alchemy bar gets offended if you order a beer. "We're a martini bar, try somewhere else" Don't pre-pay your gratuities. Our cabin steward "MADE" only made the room once on a five day cruise.
There was one bright spot a Barista named AYSA. Best coffee I have had on a cruise.
I have been on a dozen cruises. This was by far the worst. I had to call guest services twice for clean towels. My room Stewart did one turn down service in five days, and yes just one towel animal. I DO NOT advise pre-paying gratuities, or the crew will take advantage of you
An hour snorkeling over the reef was awesome. A spearfishing guide even better. Saw a six foot stingray, a flounder, and barracuda.View All undefined undefined Reviews
Avoid the trip downtown. There is more of a downtown on the ppier
Do the Fort Sumter before you get on, if you are a civil war fan.
Lots of good eats, shopping, and museums downtown
