Pick this cruise because of the initial itinerary. Also was doing a back to back for the next leg to Mexico.

Arriving at Fort Lauderdale airport and meeting our transfer to the ship was a breeze. There was a representative for the cruise line waiting in baggage claim with a sign. Just walked up and said who we were and waited for the bus. Embarkation was a little slow because of the extra time spent cleaning the ship after the gastroenteritis outbreak earlier. But no problems during the cruise with any of that. Just people making sure you used the hand sanitizer before every meal. Ship was fine but getting tired. Due for refit in March. Cabin was a deluxe balcony at the very aft of the ship. Nice views with a large balcony, except for the exhaust fans that let you know what was for dinner.

Dining was a lesson in frustration as well as incompetence. Waiting for your meals in the main dining room was a test of your memory as to what you ordered for the different courses. I have never been on a cruise where meat loaf was on the dinner menu. As for the pizzeria on deck 15. All I have to say is who runs out of pizza at lunch time and has nothing ready for 15 minutes. Then there was the hamburger and hot dog grill on deck 15. While the burgers and hot dogs with fries were good they ran out of ketchup. When asked they said they didn't have anymore. Spent more time in the Horizon Buffet than I wanted to but it was faster than waiting 2.5 hours for diner in the main dining room. Except when you go to reach for something in the buffet and the staff takes it off the serving line and says they don't have anymore?

Cabin Review

Cabin Premium Balconey

Aft facing with a LARGE balcony. Cabin was a standard size with the small shower and a curtain. If you dropped anything the floor got wet from moving the curtain. Our cabin steward was excellent. The only negative about the aft facing cabins is that you can smell diner cooking from the exhaust fans,

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

No problems during embarkation or disembarkation except for the transfer to the airport. The driver was new and spoke little English and dropped us off at the wrong terminal. I guess he thought we needed some exercise after the cruise.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Amber Cove was brand new and very clean and safe. The excursion we took into town was another story. Long bus ride with bad roads and a lousy tour guide who like to point out power plants and oil tanks. Town was a tourist trap with nothing but souvenir shops. The tour guide gave you stickers to wear so he got his cut. Just do Amber Cove it's at the end of the pier so you just walk to it.
