We decided to do a last minute Western Caribbean cruise that went to Roatan & Costa Maya which we had not been to. The Liberty is a smaller ship but offers a lot without feeling crowded. Enjoyed playing on tube slides, raft slide, and watching people in wave pool. Nice pool area for kids, and several small pools or hot tubs for adults with outdoor theater. Food was very good and service excellent as usual. Roatan has a very small port that is easy walk from ship but beach area rocky around port. We did a snorkel excursion on the "Jolly Roger". BEST snorkel experience ever and meal was simple but very good authentic foods with plenty of water & rum punch. Perfect excursion if new to snorkeling as safety first class!! Crew very professional and knowledgeable of barrier for great underwater views. Costa Maya has golf carts from ship to main shopping area that offers lots of stores to enjoy haggling. Due to Zika warning we choose not to do any excursions as most in more remote areas. A summer rain storm came in and knocked out all electricity at port but stores stayed open just hard to see merchandise. We have been to Cozumel several times so decided to do the "Mexican Cooking, Tasting, & Beach Break" excursion. Bus ride to nice resort for an enjoyable fun and entertaining cooking class. Then enjoyed cooling off in pools, beach with plenty of chairs, or use water park equipment with unlimited drinks included. This was a relaxing and enjoyable cruise.

Cabin Review

Promenade Stateroom

Cabin PR

We had an inside promenade room no. 6287, about mid ship 1 deck up from main street. Fun view to watch people and parade. A little noise during busy times but quiet at bedtime and late morning. If daytime noise is a concern then book on deck 7 so 2 decks up from main street. Room tight getting between end of bed and wall but we liked room set up with 2 small sofas, one in front of window & one side sofa with a small center table that gave us plenty of space to relax and spread out. We know how to pack light so had sufficient storage drawers, inside closet shelves, and under counter bathroom shelf. Nice vanity with added storage but only 1 outlet with 2 plugs in room. Refrig is really just a cooler so don't expect it to be cold for drinks.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Drove to Galveston and used the Port Parking which was compatible with other parking. Prepaid parking online and received a discount. Easy to locate, secure, and have frequent buses that take you to ship and return to car on cruise days.

Costa Maya

Good distance from ship to shops so take advantage of free transportation carts. Due to Zika virus warning we decided not to do any excursions as most in remote jungle areas. Shopping area nice size so plenty to look at.
