This was one of the "Allure threw a shoe and limped around the Caribbean" itineraries. The azipod failure moved us to San Juan instead of St. Thomas, then the hurricanes hit and they moved us to the Western Caribbean. I took the lumps and decided to be happy about our first visit to Labadee. Unfortunately; Labadee turned into yet another disappointment. Don't get me wrong, Labadee is a beautiful island. The staff was friendly and the water was perfect, but the beaches were overcrowded due to the enormous capacity of this ship. A large section of beachfront is rocky and inaccessible for swimming, and the nicest areas of beachfront and water access were in front of those "up sale" cabanas where you were not allowed to place a beach chair. Nassau was nice to visit again, and the Falmouth port is enjoyable if you like to shop (which I don't). I booked an excursion, it cancelled. The constant barrage of up sale and "buy more of our stuff" by RCI has gone beyond annoying to irritating. It's nice to have those options, but when we sat down for our very first plate of food in the WIndjammer, a staff member came around while we were eating. She wasn't there to ask us about the meal, or if she could get us anything, but interrupted our meal to try to sell us a dinner package. ARG!!! The positive remarks go to the production entertainment events. The ice and water shows were amazing, and the Blue Planet show was absolutely stunning. Outstanding service from our stateroom attendant Rohan who was always helpful. The MDR food and service was great, and we really enjoyed Central Park and The Park Cafe. Would I book this again if the itinerary was what I wanted? Probably not. The production shows were superb and the ship features were amazing, but it's not worth it to me to deal with the enormous number of passengers and overcrowded ports and beaches that come with it.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D8

Good stateroom showing some minor wear and tear. Good position in front of lifeboats with full view of the water. Nice lighting and room decor.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Oceanside which placed us at the beginning of the beach "boardwalk". Plenty of access to beachfront, shops, restaurants and clubs within walking distance. Nice room with balcony. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs and a free hot breakfast in the morning.

Nassau

We spent our day shopping, then stopped into Shenanigans Irish Pub. Great service and drinks.

Labadee

Too crowded and not enough swimmable beaches

Falmouth

Don't go outside the gates! great place for an excursion. Unfortunately; ours was cancelled.
