It was an award cruise from a travel agency. We were concerned about the passenger number being 3500. We NEVER encountered a line for anything. Totally surprised with our overall experience with NCL. The entertainment was tops. So many choices for dining! Just a very enjoyable week with NCL. The cruise director, Silas Cook, was energetic, fun, and very personable. Excellent recreation/entertainment staff. There were at least two shows to choose from each day. "Burn the Floor" show was the best show we have seen at sea. The "Cirque of Dreams and Steam" was the most unique show we have seen. The shore excursions we selected worked out very well. Each one was conducted with professionalism and with the passengers capabilities in mind. We enjoyed the animal preserve in Roatan, the Discover Mexico chocolate tour in Cozumel, and the Mayan tour in Harvest Caye. In Costa Maya we did our own day of walking around. We will take NCL again this next year.
Stateroom was just fine for the two of us. Balcony was small but enjoyable for us. We liked the shower set up (glass enclosure). Closet space was a little hard to reach but adequate.
We took a tour to a Mayan site "Big Hat". Great tour guide and very interesting history of this site which was only discovered in 1976.
Having visited this port in July and seeing Mayan ruins then, we choose just to walk around and shop.
