I loved Princess Cay. I snorkeled right off the shore, and as a first time snorkeler, I thought seeing striped fish and neon blue fish was amazing! It was perfect for our family. I didn't care for Nassau.
1) When we arrived at Port Canaveral, security had us place our cell phones in a bin. The bin got dumped into the floor from the belt, and 5 smart phones crashed down. It cracked the screen on my iphone. They didn't even apologize.
2) My brother's cabin did not have air conditioning the entire time. They would be sweating just trying to get dressed. They came up to our room to cool off. The first night they were told they were working on it, but it never got fixed. When they complained, someone came to their room, measured the temp, and said that it was in the 80's and "most people like that temperature." They were just expected to deal with it. They said it was so hot at night that neither of them could sleep.
Dated and only had one power outlet in the room.
We just walked down to Junkanoo. Next time we probably won't get off the boat in Nassau. The women in all the shops call you gorgeous or beautiful to try to sell you things, and they kept calling my husband "daddy," which was awkward for him and our child. Junkanoo had pretty water, but there was broken glass on the beach. I really can't complain, though, because it was free. I guess you get what you pay for.
This beach was great! I have tried snorkeling before, but I'm not a great swimmer. This beach was perfect for me because you can snorkel right off the beach on the shoreline! I got to see striped fish and neon blue fish, which was so amazing to me!! It was one of the coolest things I have ever done. We also got a clam shell thing for our chairs for $25. All in all, it was an excellent day at the beach!
The embarkation was smooth other than security dropping our smartphones out of their bin, which cracked my iphone. They didn't so much as apologize for it.
