We chose this cruise cause of the 2 stops, Cozumel, and Mahogany Bay, we felt like some beach time!
The food was good to very good, the service was very good, and we had no problems with the Cruise or the ship!
Entertainment was really good! The 2 rock shows by the regular entertainment staff were really good, and the special Cubano Show they had one night even had the regular show staff who were sitting near us, standing and applauding! Carnival really upped their game this week in entertainment!
The crowd on this sailing was the oldest of any Carnival ship we've been on, guess its the time of the year! Although they were older, it seemed everyone was having a good time!
We had 2 nice beach days without any problems!
The removal of 1 star was because of the Port, which again proves to have problems! In Tampa its always something! Last trip it was getting on, this time it was getting off! The trouble=Homeland Security! There aren't enough, and they always find a reason to slow things down in Tampa! Who ever is running the Tampa office needs to be fired!
Homeland Security/Border Control(?) called for a surprise inspection of the ship, so starting the dis-embarkation was running over an hour behind. Then we stood in line for 2 hours after we were called to dis-embark, cause Homeland Security/Border Control(?) simply don't have enough people working! The last cruise out of Tampa we took, boarding the ship was 2 hours late for the same reason!
All of this isn't Carnivals fault we understand, but it is part of the cruise!
Carnival has a crew they can be proud of on the Paradise right now, from the cabin attendants (like Harold), all the food/restaurant personal we encountered such as our server in the dining room named Nataly, the entire entertainment group of singers/dancers, the casino hostess (Bunny), all were excellent in their jobs!
The cabin was an ocean view on the 7th deck towards the back. Our cabin attendant was Harold, and he did a very good job.
Homeland/Border Control are always messing something up here it seems! You're either late by several hours to get on the ship, or late by several hours getting off the ship, and usually its Homeland/Border Control's fault!
Came back last month from Europe traveling through 4 airports to get home and had no problems anywhere near as it seems we always have in Tampa!
Too bad cause its our closet port, but really rather use others now!
We took the skyway(?) ride out to the beach, had a great beach day, attentive staff, food expensive though! Port in excellent condition!
In Cozumel we always end up at either Nachi Cocom south of the ports when we're on Carnival, or Bucanno's north of the ports when we're on another cruise line!
This time we chose Nachi Cocom, which limits the total number who enter to around 135(+,-) so its never crowded. They charge about $110. a couple which includes unlimited drinks and a 4 course meal that fills me up every time easily! They have a swim up bar fresh water pool if you don't want to use the beach!
The taxi ride to Nachi Cocom costs $17. each way, so figure at least adding $34. to that $110, but its worth it to us! We'll be headed back there next month on another Carnival ship!View All 117 Nachi Cocom Beach Club Reviews
