Sail Date: Oct 2017
Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony

Repositioning cruise at the right time and the right price. Was able to upgrade to a balcony room using the auction process. Service was excellent, the ship was clean, old décor in the Stardust theater and LeBistro. No longer jade and fuscia everywhere, however, with constant use, the furnishings are probably going to wear thin. The beds were not as comfortable as the previous beds. You could tell they were 2 cots put together. If you take something out of the fridge, let the room steward know so he/she doesn't charge for it. The food was good, weather was great. Dominican Republic was sparsely populated on Sunday. Some islands close down on Sunday, DR is one of them. I did not like the thermal spa on the Jade as much as on the other ships. Only 6 thermal beds and no waterfall massage in the spa (my favorites). The spa hot tub was not co-ed. Got back late from the Jamaica ship tour. Good thing it was through the ship. They sailed as soon as we got onboard. We paid for the Deluxe Romance Package and the crew kept referring to it as the Honeymoon Package (married 32 years). They gave us a letter in the room and we had to have several copies made to give to the restaurants and spa. Have them make 3 or 4 copies early in the cruise and take them with you to the venues.

On the port side of the ship, convenient placement. We took the stairs and it was easy to go from 6th level to 9th and then from 9th to 12th.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

Arrived at 7 am to JFK, took a cab to the port, dropped off the luggage with the porters and walked across the street to get coffee and a donut which we ate near the water and was able to skip the line (already had voucher from museum on line), got into the sub, ship, and space shuttle and had a great time. Spent several hours at the Intrepid then walked to the Jade for embarkation. Was able to skip the lines as I am a Platinum Lattitudes member, got onto the ship and ate lunch with all of the people who had been at the port at 9am.

We walked around and enjoyed the area near the port.

Very safe feeling in this port. Walked around and enjoyed the area near the port.
