We flew into Fort Lauderdale for our first and last experience with MSC Cruises. We had high hopes for this five night cruise to Ocho Rios & Grand Cayman. Upon arrival at the pier our week was foreordained to be a disappointment. This was our sixth cruise and by far the worst which is sad as we really enjoy cruising.

The boarding process was nonexistent and absolutely no control. It was chaos. The only saving grace was an upgrade to a balcony when they were unable to locate our reservation in their system.

At first glance the ship is immaculate with beautiful public rooms, the housekeeping was good (if invisible). Our first experience at the evening dining was again chaos. The food was cold, service was very slow and often wrong. They would bring out dishes we didn't order and would take forever to bring the correct meal if at all. And this set the stage for the rest of the week. You would think that an Italian cruise line would offer good pasta. It was dry with little flavor. If you asked for more than one glass of water, they would look at you confused.
