Great cruise (our 20th, and second crossing)! Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis made it so much fun (I can't remember a cruise where so many looked forward to the captain's early morning announcement, and actually stopped to listen to it) and set the tone for the crew, who were all wonderful, helpful and attentive. Made several new friends from all over the world among both guests and crew...one of the reasons we cruise. Food was delicious in every venue, including Qsine, our first experience there (won't be our last). Only one entertainer we could have done without, but otherwise the entertainment was top notch, especially Barricade Boys and the female violinist. Barcelona (Gaudi's architecture tour) and Malaga/Granada (Alhambra) were inspiring; Cartagena and Tenerife a little less so, if only 'cuz we've been there recently. Both embarkation and disembarkation were probably the smoothest we've experienced in all our years of cruising. We'd do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, we'll be on the Reflection again next year. Can't wait.

Wonderful crew and friendly guests, a relaxing, floating party.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Gaudi Walking Tour
Having seen Gaudi's designs in Casa Batllo and Casa Mille in photos, it was a great experience to see them up close & personal. But the highlight of the tour had to be La Sagrada Familia. What an awe-inspiring creation. Hope to come back some day when it's finished.

  • Cartagena (Spain)
None of the excursions really looked that interesting, so we just walked around the downtown area. Cute port city, and everything is literally right off the ship.

  • Alhambra Palace and Gardens
Unfortunately, we weren't able to book an excursion to Alhambra (it was sold out), but we took the day trip to Granada and saw as much as we could get to at the castle. Still, it was a scenic, worthwhile trip through Spanish olive groves there and back, and Granada itself was a charming mix of old and new.

  • Rome (Civitavecchia)
We stayed at a B&B not far from the ship (it's a small town, everything is very close). Very friendly atmosphere and guests, all of whom were sailing on the same cruise. Came a day early so had a nice, relaxing time, not rushing to get on board. Our room wasn't ready right away, so we took the train into Rome for the day. Very easy to do. Sidewalk cafes in Civitavecchia were plentiful, food was delicious and weather was nice, if a little cool.
