Sail Date: Oct 2017

I chose this cruise because I am of Italian heritage and the online ads caught my interest. The ship is beautiful, the cabins are also quite nice, and the service was great. However, since I am first of all American born and the ship sails from an American Harbor, I don't think enough attention was given to those passengers who are also American. All the announcements were translated into several languages which became tedious;, but even the English speaking announcers had such a heavy accent that you couldn't understand them. The daily newsletter was quite confusing as far as activities. I was denied entry into the dining room for lunch one day because i wore a one piece bathing suit, which was covered adequately with a cover up garment, because they had rules about decorum. But the outrageous public sexual behavior on Deck 14 by a large group of "bears" was never admonished. This was on the smoking deck, and unfortunately my travel partner is a smoker. Also what I missed was seeing a show which incorporated a Comedian. This could have been accomplished in one of the many nightclubs and could have been geared to those who understand English. For those reasons I will probably stick with Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Celebrity, etc. next time.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Were there before, so we only did some shopping and returned to the ship.

Costa Maya

To me excursions were too expensive, not worth the money. Costa Maya is beautiful; we shopped and hung out at the hotel pool. Would like to return and see more of it.

Nassau

The experience of hiring transportation to get to Atlantis was unpleasant. People arguing over who booked the passengers. Nassau has become old news for us, so we just visited Atlantis. Hotel is gorgeous, but the casino is not even as pretty as our New Jersey's Borgata.
