Cabin: Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

We had a balcony on Deck 7. You had to hold your breath from the elevator all the way to our cabin due to strong MOLD smell. Aisle carpet was shampooed halfway through cruise, but smell returned same evening. Stateroom cabin was fine.

Extremely poor quality of food in Windjammer for all 3 meals (taste and quality was still poor even after a food officer replaced it for me!) Same for breakfast in Main Dining Room. Dinner in Main Dining Room was adequate except for a couple of meals - rolls always hard and cold; red meat always served too rare or too well done, never what was ordered; ie. husband ordered medium rare prime rib on second formal night and was served a well done butt end of the roast; excessive wait time for meals (45 min at one seating)- seems staff has been cut back; I could go on and on...

Entertainment on this ship was lacking too - only 3 comedy shows the entire week and one of them the comedian was ill, so he was replaced with jugglers; also only 2 stage productions - the musical on the last night was good. Not enough live music or dance floors either. One small Latin band most nights, a country band for 5 evenings, and the orchestra played some jazz one night. The dance floors they did have would only accommodate a few couples comfortably; and since the bands were rotated, sometimes there wasn’t a dance floor at all. One dance floor was used every night for photos. The Star Lounge, which was the best dance venue, was used for private events a couple of nights. The Star Lounge was also not even used for a few nights. We asked for some background music when bands weren’t playing and were told there wasn’t any.
