We chose this cruise as part of a trip which included a mini tour around Japan. The ship was delayed by a day because of a typhoon, but this was no problem as we got to spend an extra day in Tokyo.

Embarkation was a bit of a nightmare as everyone had arrived at the same time and we had to wait ages for our number to be called. When we got to our cabin the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly (hairs!) and we had to call the cabin steward in to clean it, so not a very good start. The cabin was a bit tired looking, as was most of the ship really considering it had recently been in dry dock. Not sure what they did to it there.

In the main dining room the food was OK but not much choice, as a large part of the menu was given over to Japanese food. The buffet was quite good.

Tokyo (Yokohama)

Loved Tokyo. We had almost 3 days here and took the Metro everywhere. Very safe and easy to use, although trying to find the correct exit in the underground stations is difficult as they are so big. The Robot Restaurant is absolutely hilarious and a must see for anyone who doesn't mind loud music and lots of colour. The views from the Government Building and the Tokyo Tower were really good. Lovely gardens. The main road crossing is really good to do and you get a good view of it from the nearby station.
