To meet an old wish to see something of Japan .
Arrived in Tokyo a week before the cruise and had some days in Kyoto, both of which were fascinating. The Japanese people were without fail helpful and courteous and made every effort to understand my Aussie accent .
Embarkation and disembarkation were both very easy and smooth.
We had a mini suite which was very comfortable. We had some trouble with the TV which took some time to resolve , seemed to be a common problem on the ship .
The food in general was OK , if slightly unimaginative , but the waitstaff were excellent.
We tried both the Italian and Steak Specialty Restaurants both of whichwere excellent.
Given it was 2 x 8 day Cruises after each other , the menu was repeated.
We enjoyed the musical shows but did not go to the other shows .
We were disappointed with the lack of shore excursion presentations.
The service in all parts of the ship was very good .
We found the Japanese ports excellent and enjoyed those shore excursions we did , they were run with usual Japanese efficiency although some of the Tour Leaders required some concentration to fully understand them , my problem as much as theirs.
The half day in Busan was a waste as far as we were concerned and having seen some remote Russian towns on another trip , did not feel the need to do so again .
As usual, the ship did not hold back with the charges for their shore excursions and in 3 of the ports we were able to make satisfactory arrangements for ourselves.
In general, we had a great cruise.
Well kept by cabin steward although TV caused some trouble. Luckily, we did not find that too much of a hardship, we did not go to watch TV .
