We were on the 15 day cruise Oct 26 - Nov 10. Chose this cruise as our 25th Anniversary celebration. Despite not getting to ports which is understandable because of weather. But the Captain of the ship was extremely unprofessional by coming over the loudspeaker and threatening that people would be thrown off the ship when we arrived in Hong Kong and calling them a group of “hyena’s and stupid” people. Even last day while commending his staff, for the situation earlier in the cruise mentioned “stupid” people again. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! Besides not getting to ports for uncontrollable reasons, one port that we got to was a complete disaster. People that weren’t scheduled for tours got off the ship before us. Don’t know how that was possible. Our tour was scheduled for 2:45pm and we left at 4:25, by the time we got to the castle it was getting dark and it was under construction so no beauty in that. Then off to a shopping area, arrived at only 7:15, where everything was closing at 8 except restaurants... most of us took taxis back to the ship. So disappointing!

The food was also disappointing this time, the buffet was repetitive and not a lot of choice, maybe it is because it is a smaller ship or the fact that they were catering more to the Japanese clientele. The food in the main dining area was average a lot of times lacked flavour and the “Princess Favorites” were all Japanese choices. Our waiters were very good, but never once did the maître’d come and ask us how our meals were. There were a lot of people complaining about the quantity of food (for me it was fine) but even the waiters would say to us we can order you more if you would like when placing our meals in front of us. Also, bring back anytime dining 5:30 is too early and 7:45 to late.

Entertainment was subpar sometimes very amateurish. People would walk out of them. Scheduling was also not very good as they would be at 8pm when you just sat down to dinner, sometimes went to the early show but it wasn’t convenient either. The onboard entertainment was also not what we have been used to in the past. No poolside entertainment, too much art auctions, junk on sale or things to do that would cost extra money. The cruise director was non existent except at the shows, but the cruise staff were very friendly and entertaining. Princess needs to step up with their entertainment and get creative if they want to compete with the other cruise lines. Disney, RCCL, and NCL have great shows!
