We sailed the STAR last year in 2016-- and had so much fun-- we booked this cruise while on board the Star. This itinerary was slightly different spending overnight in Iceland. We loved Iceland-- so we booked it. We just made Platinum status & seems NCL cut back on all the Platinum perks like chocolates on pillow or small box of Godiva chocolates on arrival.

The dining at the Buffet was CHAOS 24/7-- there were large groups of Asian passengers that dominated the ship-- they wouldn't leave the buffet & after a few days-- the bananas were gone-- the green tea & most herbal teas WERE gone. A waiter told me the Asians take all the tea & bananas. They were leaving the buffet with large plates & bags of food. The STAR(the year before)-- had specialty cheeses always at the buffet ( brie etc) & always had fresh smoked salmon. THIS YEAR in 2017-- there were cheap processed cheeses there and NO SMOKED SALMON EVER at buffet-- NO SMOKED SALMON on menus either. they had a salmon pate on menus that they labeled as smoked salmon-- but it was not FRESH smoked salmon. YUCK. The food on this cruise was lacking -- even the desserts were unappealing & the pies were dry.the food I'm discussing was at Buffet & main dining rooms-- not Speciality Restaurants.

The main dining rooms were noisy-- REALLY noisy.
