Cabin: Promenade Stateroom

Highs: Enjoyed the variety of friendly shipmates, Giovanni's Table, and the positivity of many of the crew. Good snorkelling in Honolulu, Maui, and Lifou. Absolutely loved Sydney and the number of days at sea in one of many very nice quiet shipboard spots. Promenade room was wonderful surprise- felt spacious, bright and was not noisy at all. Level 3 dining worked really hard to accommodate allergy related breakfast and lunch needs. Coffee card was really helpful. Cabin crawl with Cruise Critics was much fun- don't miss it! Large selection of activities to keep most everyone occupied (if you needed assistance).

Lows: Consistently inconsistent dining service at main dining and at Chops. Izumi was a disaster food and service wise. Our main dining dinner server was replaced by end of week 1 and this helped a little. Kitchen was off in terms of speed and sequencing of meals- Often I ate dinner while waiting for my husband's order to arrive- really really often. Food allergy (gluten) was inconsistently accommodated- really depended on whom was serving you. Several episodes of gluten poisoning narrowly averted by repeated questioning. What different celiacs experienced depended on whom they spoke to- found out at the end of cruise some special desert and cookie requests had been provided to another cruiser though not to my spouse. Internet was terrible- could not download materials we needed even with upgrade. Had planned to work on some cruising days and this was very problematic.

Loved the room! Bright, spacious, spent time each day reading in the window seat while watching the world go by. For long cruises it would have been nice to have a window open to refresh the room.
