it was our first ever cruise and not sure what to expect, we traveled on the day from England and had to catch a taxi from Trevisio airport ( a bus would have been more sensible) however,we arrived early at the dock-yard and were quickly and courteously on board. this gave us time to enjoy the ships lunch at the windjammer and it was soon time to search out our cabin.the suitcases were almost there too..so well done to the staff. the food was very good both at the windjammer ( expect long queues on cruise days) and the king and i dinning room. also, the other guests at our table were superb ( apart from the two that never showed up) and we had plenty of memories of fun times. the ports visited were excellent (something for everyone's taste ) and transfers on and off the ship-including tenders were pretty well organised. now,the main reason for this review....our room was clean and tidy, with just a few signs of wear-and-tear of a ship of this age..the shower was a bit slow but we could cope with that...BUT there was a constant 'grinding' 'flushing' noise from above between 7 am to 10pm...upon querying this with the staff they explained that it was due to the pool mechanics above the cabin ...but could not relocate us due to lack of room on board..i think this is pretty POOR for an excuse...and SPOILT what would have been a superb cruise. so ANYONE contemplating a cruise on Splendour should AVOID 7049 at all costs..and furthermore RCCI SHOULD WARN future passengers too.
