Ship was the Miracle, Empress deck 6, balcony, mid. starboard. Embarkation was very smooth with FTTF. Spa crew was pleasant at first, booked some treatments, unfortunately the pedicure and deep tissue massage were not worth the money. Cancelled a facial and from then on Indy was extremely rude the entire rest of the cruise. She, at one point, brought my wife a rolled up, used, wet towel to use. The music was hideous from the DJ, it drove us out of those areas. It was geared toward very young adults or was very old pop/disco. It was a big party boat, with drunk people everywhere. I know it's Carnival, but it was very apparent. People falling down, spilling drinks, knocking into you, etc. The air conditioner for our room was broken and the room was freezing. We also lost all electricity during the first night. Both were fixed the following day. Just not a great start. The bathroom smelled like a urinal at a sports bar, which made it unbearable for my wife to the extent we went into the Walmart by the docks in Puerto Vallarta to buy some room deodorizer. Unfortunately, this ship needs a refurbishment very soon. We could never find many of the pictures taken of us on board, because Pixels has not received an upgrade. Even with the help of the Pixel crew, we would have had to look through every picture they took for the entire cruise to find ours. They said they should get that upgrade sometime this next year so one could use your phone to see your pictures and order them from your phone. As far as activities, they were plentiful, although the biggest of them were routinely scheduled so one with a late dining time could not attend, they should have had both an early and late show to accommodate everyone. There was smoking on some balconies, and we were told they couldn't find who was doing it, therefore it continued all the way up to docking on last day. One last very small negative was the MDR menu that one could see on the TV in your room, was not what you would see at the MDR. OK, that was a lot of negatives, so your probably saying "why a 3 overall rating"? The staff, other than previously reported, were great! Our room steward, Mawardi was very friendly and accommodating. We gave him a little goody bag on day one and reaction was priceless. The MDR staff were excellent as well. Omar, Imade and Lorraine elevated the entire experience. The food was a 7 to 8 out of 10. The entertainment couple of Lee and George were outgoing and very energetic. The excursion in Cabo was fun, well presented, and organized. Well worth it. Disembarkation was smooth as well. There was some kind of delay, but they were ahead of schedule until something happened, we don't fault anyone. All in all, the ship just needs some love, it's definitely showing it's age. Would do again if a newer ship.
