We chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary and not wanting to fly all the way to Hawaii. We stayed on the Queen Mary the night before in Long Beach which was great. The port was well organized and we didn't have to wait long to board. We did have priority boarding because we had a suite. The ship is a bit dated and a little shabby but we really enjoyed the trip overall. We met some amazing people. We did the Chef's Table which I highly recommend. The chefs Jerry and Anthony were wonderful. The food in the buffet and restaurants was generally better than I expected. The steakhouse food and service were excellent and well worth the extra $$. Our cabin suite 6163 was spacious and we loved the big bathroom. There were 2 closets and a ton of storage. There were a lot of sea days and time to relax. The Serenity deck was a disappointment because it was packed every day when the weather was nice. The pubs and comedy entertainment were very good. The magic show with Bobby Borgia was great also. The ship's décor is over the top and quite amusing. The staff were generally very nice and helpful. There were some tender glitches in Kona and some spotty service but overall it was a wonderful vacation. Our cabin steward Rodel was very attentive as were the guest service staff. The itinerary was wonderful, we got to see sunsets every time we left the islands in Hawaii. This cruise only had 30 children on board which was very unusual; we enjoyed that it was mostly adults. The only excursion we booked through Carnival was Germaine's Luau in Oahu and it was pretty awful. That was the low point of the trip. This was Miracle's last trip to Hawaii and we would definitely do it again.

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

Cabin was spacious and clean. There was a full sofa, tons of storage and 2 closets. The bathroom was great with a full tub and 2 sinks. The mattress was meh and the pillows were terrible. They really need to get new bed linens and towels; they were pretty yellowed. The balcony overlooked the lifeboats but that did not bother us much. It was a pretty quiet location but was convenient. We loved the towel animals.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

Port in Long Beach was organized. Customs was quick and painless. No issues really.

Kauai

Beautiful island. We renewed our wedding vows on Shipwreck beach and it was beautiful. Had lunch at the Beach House in Poipu and it was fabulous.

Kona (Kailua Bay)

Touristy town and not much to see in the area except lava. We did find a very pretty beach at a state park north of the airport.

Maui

Beautiful island. Drive the road to Hana and keep going!!! See the sunset in Wailea and if it's in season, go whale watching.

Ensenada

The highlight of this port were all the harbor seals. Not much to see here, otherwise. We had a massage on the ship and watched the seals.
