Chose this cruise as a nice getaway with just my husband. He had been working away from home for months, so this cruise was perfect. Our second cruise with Royal Caribbean and I didn't realize it made us "Gold" status, so we were able to bypass the long line to get on the ship. We were second to get on. We were on board by 11:30 and had time to check out the ship before heading to the Windjammer for lunch. Of course it was so crowded, it was ridiculous but I expected it for the most part. The pool was small, but this is a smaller ship and there weren't many children on board.
I loved the layout of the ship! It was easy to navigate.
Our cabin was an inside cabin.. on deck 3, not far from the elevators and stairs. This can be nice; however, with the Centrum having entertainment each night until 11 pm.. be aware, you can hear the music in your stateroom when you want to go to sleep. I know.. I know.. 11 pm? Sleep? But yeah.. that's me. :D The stateroom was small, but just fine for the two of us.
The cabin was adequate. Of course it was small, but it was all we needed for the two of us.
I've read complaints about the ship and cabins needing to be updated, but that doesn't bother me. so what if the carpet seems a little worn.
We just came off the ship and walked around the town doing some shopping. Plenty of police prescence - constantly being hawked to take a horse and buggy ride. I'm sure that would have been nice - just know they are persistant. Barter at the shops.. there is a variety of items for sale. A lot were handmade. Barter! Barter!
Don't forget to take your license off the ship with you.. as you need it to get out of the Bahamas. Some passengers were shocked because they didn't bring their photo ID off the ship. There is plenty of material as well as the captain who announced to take your photo ID with you. You have to go through customs to get back on the ship.. they even thumbed through my book to make sure nothing was stowed inside it.
We just arrived in the Miami Airport, hopped in a cab (plenty waiting) to take us to the Port. We got on the ship quickly. I don't have any real experience with the city.
