We recently celebrated our 48th anniversary on a 28 day cruise on Oceania Insignia traveling from Rome, Italy to Montreal, Canada. This cruise was a segment of the 180 day world cruise that originated in January of 2017. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. We have traveled Oceania Marina from Miami to Barcelona in 2013. This was a 14 day cruise w/time in Barcelona as a post trip. This last cruise of 28 days was amazing, We originated in Rome Italy then traveled to the following: Spain, Portugal, France, Ireland and did the northern crossing to Montreal Canada. The ship carries 680 passengers and about 440 crew. We spent 3 days In Montreal Canada before returning to Roswell GA where we live. We ate in the formal dining room daily. Each day we were presented with a different menu. The luncheon menu included an around the world menu from a different country each day. This dish of the day was served in a circular bowl with the different specialties of the country served in a circular pattern. We attended the high tea daily in the Horizons lounge. The white gloved attendants served tasty little savory and sweet treats. Then we would float right into Happy Hour which served 2 drinks for the price of one. The meals in the buffet on level 10 was also outstanding. Lovely cuts or fresh roasted beef, turkey, pork in carving stations. Specialty paninis service daily. Fresh soups and even pizza The grill was always available too. The pool area also included a buffet station, fresh cooked hamburgers, hot dogs, and a gelato station that made the best milk shakes. Service above and beyond expectation and wonderful entertainment. We can't say enough about Oceania's small ships. It was an extensive itinerary which we couldn't resist. I would like to experience this same itinerary again. My favorite port was Bordeaux. I love walking the streets and shopping in this lovely city. Ireland was wonderful and our tour guide in Cork even sang to us. Her name was Eleanor. We had 3 ports in Ireland, Belfast, Dublin and Cork. What a fun vibrant city Dublin is. Porto Portugal was charming. An Oceania staff member travels w/each excursion so you were always well attended to.
