Cruise to Sydney on the Explorer of the Seas 2017

10/6 Olympic Peninsula, WA to Pier 91 in Seattle. About 11:45. Dropped off perfect, porter took the bags away and check in went very smooth. Had 2 bottles of wine we got checked in. We missed a sign for the Suite guests check-in which was supposed to be somewhat faster, but the line of non-Suite pax moved just fine, 10 minutes. Our only wait was the security scan, like a TSA operation, maybe 30-40 minutes. Got on the ship and got our bearings, grabbed a bite at The Promenade Cafe. Bought deluxe drink pakage on line and my wife got the Soda package. Also a 15 cup coffee card. Rooms opened up around 1PM but our bags weren't there yet. Nice junior suite with a walk-in closet, tub and balcony, etc. We got a call about our first day specialty dinning and an upgrade. Met our cabin Steward at around 3:30 and she retrieved our bags and took our request: Ice, 2 robes, 2 wine glasses. Robes didn't show up. The pre-ordered sail away, wine and cheese platter showed up in our cabin around 8-ish while we were at dinner. Sail Away at Dizzy's very busy, but no trouble getting a drink. Dinner at Giovanni's was excellent. Waiter had a bit of trouble "deshelling" shrimp, but none the less, well prepared. Wine bottle 40% off with card. Only slight oh so slight complaint, a piece of tin foil on my Oso Bucco that I'm not quite sure the waiter conveyed to the chef. Language barrier perhaps. A few people wearing blue jeans in the specialty restaurant. Only one show first night and we missed it, 7:15. In bed by 9:00. Stored that wine n cheese for another day. A bit rough seas but gentle

10/7 coffee is brewed, not instant at the Promenade yeah! Cappuccino was ok and the scones were just dry. Great place to watch people in the early morning, INCLUDING the woman in the house robe and slippers. Almost made a comment to her, but bit my tongue. Only thing missing, curlers in her hair and a cigarette hanging from her lips. Very windy up on Deck 12 for my walk. Then the gym, very crowded but it's the first day at sea. Walked a mile and then breakfast. Its too was very busy and seats hard to find. They are announcing instructions (waiters and seating) and asking people to take their books and card games elsewhere so patrons can find a seat. Two minutes and I'm seated. Easy. Meet n Mingle at 10. Talk on Hawaii people so boring I fell asleep. Dinner was roasted duck, a bit dry. Went to the evening Bob Arvon it was good not great. Lost $40 in the casino
