We just returned from Bermuda on the NCL Dawn out of Boston. I cannot say enough about the GREAT service on board! The employees that we interacted with were spectacular! They were helpful and friendly! Our room steward on deck 10 (Pergreso) was the best room steward we’ve ever had on any cruise and we let him know it! I literally gave him a list of requests the minute we arrived; they were filled immediately with a smile! We had towel animals every night and the room was kept immaculate!! He was rewarded with an extra cash bonus at the duration of our trip……..he went above and beyond the call of duty and he deserved it!!

NCL has definitely improved on the deserts and food. There was definitely a wider variety of food selections to choose from. We had the dinner package, one of our choices was Cagney’s…..well……… what’s there to say about Cagney’s? If you choose this restaurant for your entire trip this dinner package you will not be disappointed! Cagney’s was absolutely unforgettable!!!Teppanyaki was a good show…but if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all, the food was also good! The waiter service in the main dining room was the BEST! They worked very hard and we never had and empty glass of water…. they were on their game for sure!!!! The shows were ok…….I do not cruise for the shows, but there were a wide variety to choice from. Our weather was good, we had a little chop arriving, a little rain, but that’s it, absolutely nothing to complain about and it wasn’t anything that could be controlled. The weather in Bermuda was good…….little light rain on arrival for 1 day and clouds on the second day and partly sunny on our last day. I’ll take a rainy day in Bermuda over a sunny day in Boston any day of the week :) The cruise on the way back was slow and calm the whole way. This was our best cruise on NCL to date! We have just booked our next cruise back to Bermuda in October 2018 however….. NCL will be doing a partial schedule next year and will be moving down to San Juan permanently in 2019. So we will be taking the Royal Caribbean Serenade of the Seas leaving on Sunday and returning on the following Sunday. I love this departure time better……………….why? NO traffic into or out of Boston!!!! I’m a gold card member on Royal Caribbean already and looking forward to a change and comparison. The two ships are Radiance class basically the same size and amount of decks. Yes, we love deck 10 forward!! Why deck 10? Nice and Quiet, near the forward elevator, deck 10 is one deck that runs from the very front to the very back of the ship without the elevator jogging fiasco, it’s isolated from the garden café’ chair dragging noise by deck 11 and it’s close to our muster station in the theater. It’s also 2 floors down from the pool and café’. We find this a great location for our needs and get it every year!

Embarkation and Disembarkation was a dream, we arrived at 10:15am and were boarded by 11:30!!! We always get the earliest arrival time and take the latest 10:00am disembarkation time, by then everyone’s long gone no fighting the lines, luggage search etc. The only luggage in the terminal left is ours, grab and go! No traffic at 11:00 on Friday so it’s a smooth sail out of Boston.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

The cabin was in a great location, a bit small for 3 but we were not in the cabin much at all. I can not stress enough getting a balcony, We saw several minki whales, a basking shark, a sea turtle, and some other unknown fish in large schools and some ships passing bye. Love the sound of the ocean and slept with the sliding door wide open.

Port Reviews

Boston

I live here............ it is a great historical place to live and i do have ancestors who helped

forge this great country forward his name was Captain Edward Preble of the USS Constitution.

Boston is safe to visit and the food in the North end and the sea food from Plymouth to New bedford is second to none on the planet!!

King's Wharf

I've been here 7-8 times seen everything to see. I Love it! It is very, very, clean. I challenge anyone to find a cigarette but or piece of chewed gum on the ground here.

immaculate country!! Friendly locals, very helpful, and safe!
