We chose Royal Caribbean because we have been on several RCCL cruises before and really loved them. We were expecting the same Royal treatment that we received from previous cruises but were sadly mistaken. The ports were FANTASTIC - 5 stars! But, (aside from the dining areas), the service was terrible.

The crew seemed tired and unhappy. They were not interested in making our vacation good. Many seemed really sick of having to deal with tourists, and most were not willing to be helpful or even to muster up a smile as a greeting. We were so looking forward to this cruise, but our excitement changed to disappointment and by about mid cruise, anger. I can go into specifics if anyone is interested, but I own my own business, and if any of my employees acted toward my customers in the way that the crew members acted toward cruisers, I would take them off the floor until they were trained properly. This cruise marked our "graduation" from Gold to Platinum, but I doubt if we will ever cruise with them again, so we have wasted 30 cruise points that we could have been receiving with a cruise line that actually cared about our business. We haven't cruised in about 5 years, so we don't know if this is now the "norm" for RCCL service, or if it was an anomaly, but aren't willing to risk it in the future, so, we are starting over. Just booked our next cruise on Princess. We'll see how that goes.
