Sail Date: Oct 2017
Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

We chose this cruise as we were travelling with two Cruise first timers and the amount and quality of the ports of call was a big attraction. Our last two cruises were transatlantics, east to west on Celebrity Reflection and Independence of the Seas.

It was lovely to sail on the Jewel again, having done cruises on her back in 2007/2008. The ship is still in very good shape. We`are not really fans of the huge ships, preferring this size.

We flew in from Dublin on the morning of the cruise, our privately booked transfer was waiting and we were dropped at the ship just before 12. There were 6 of us travelling.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

We struck lucky with this cabin, having booked it as a 'Guarantee'. Indeed, two of our travelling companions were right next door in 9054.

D1's have that little bit of extra floor space, and the midships position was ideal for the elevators or the quick dash up two floors to Windjammer.

Have to say that the beds are probably the most comfortable we have had in many cruises. However, one small gripe about the bedclothes. The duvets are little more than heavy sheets. Maybe a higher tog rating might be in order ?

The cabin attendant . Ary, from Indonesia was cheerfulness personified. He never stopped smiling and he really did a great job. He's off home soon for a well deserved break.
