We chose this cruise for a quick girls getaway. We are seasoned cruisers, so we had an idea on what to expect when sailing on an older ship.
The service in the dining room was the worst I have experienced. The nicest thing I can say is they new your name when you sat down. There were a few nights where we waiting 10 minutes to even get a menu. I might be old fashioned, but I thought the waiters should fill the water glasses. No, they leave pitchers on the table, and you will your own. We chose the "pick you time" dining, and for the most part worked out great. They asked it you wanted to share a table, and we always said yes. This way we got to meet different people every night. However on the second night, we asked to share, and they put us in a booth by the kitchen and ignored us!! I have never felt so insulted. We joked and thought of who we ticked off the night before. After that we asked for tables on the other side of the dining room, and it got better. The quality of the food was okay. The lava cake is to die for!!
Day 1 - Getting on the ship was different from what we were used to, but it worked, and we were on the ship an hour after we arrived at the port (which is actually pretty good). We went up to the Lido deck for lunch, and to our surprise, it wasn't bad. Yes it was crowded, like they always are on embarkation day, but you could move, and there was plenty of seating.
Cabin was smaller than usual, but it was clean and nice. We ran into a slight issue with the mini fridge. We had medication that needed to be refrigerated, and it did not seem to be working. We called housekeeping, and they sent somebody up. By the morning is was cold.
