Was our 1st ncl cruise having been on 14 ccl cruises was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Got to the dock early but was thru the check in line very quickly and was at the buffet getting a snack before noon. Crew was very friendly and helpful, we ate in the indgo dinning room 2 nights and in the blue lagoon 2 nights and the rest of meals from buffet or on deck. We used room service 6 nights for cookies and brownies and made hot coco in room with coffee pot and coco mix from in buffet. What showed the hoe the crew went beyond the call was shown when on the last night we called and ordered just brownies an the guy who delivered our orders all the other nights called before he left to make sure we did not want the cookies to. The shows were good, the comedy act was great and enjoyed the Halloween and quest nights very much. Took part in the quest and our group came in 2nd meet some new people who took part to help out. Tried the climbing wall once and took part in 1 pool game on deck. We just sit out on top deck (15) and got tanned (no lines) ha ha and read a couple good books, very relaxing from rat race. We got off ship in samana and shopped a little and looked around near port and was better than i expected. Went shopping in st thomas and bought another lens for camera, the salesman at shop said he remembered me from buying some lens about 3 yrs ago, not sure to believe but he knew what state we were from. We took the ship tour to the baths and enjoyed the boat ride and the ride across virgin gorda was pretty good also. We normally have not taken ship tours when on ccl but this trip was a good one. Getting of ship was just as easy as getting on, and their bus up to ft lauderdale apt was good. We had rented a hertz car and spent 2 days before cruise in miami and dropped car near port with free ride to port. One complaint we had was the lifeboats were very hot when waiting in port to go back to ship, i know quit whining ha ha.
Ocean view cabin 8586 was just a little small have been used to balcony and got spoiled, but spent most time up on deck so not big deal. One thing to keep in mind is that if in a port where they tender you in the crew let the lifeboats down early so be prepared for a little noise and there is a walkway outside your window, not sure but some crew may have went by while curtains were open could be funny so be careful unless you want to put on show.
