Street scene in Havana

This cruise to Havana was a way for us to see this Capital City in a short cruise from our home state of Florida. The Sky's colorful exterior flourishes belie the ho-hum interior, in particular our veranda suite. The furnishings were really lacking in comfort and quality. There was very little space to move around the desk, loveseat and door to the balcony. The loveseat itself was jammed up against the bed, and it was weird seating, sort of an upholstered bench with no arms..We are happy we saw Havana, even though it is in a sorry state of neglect. It is still a photogenic city with a rich history that is worth seeing. We took the Highlights of Havana excursion, which drove us around major sites and allotted enough time to stop, get off the coach and take pictures. As for the onboard food in the dining rooms, the lunch menu was limited. The dinner menu was more diverse, and the food was good. Passengers were not allowed to disembarkand tender to shore in the Bahamas due to the size of the swells, so the ship pulled away from the island and slowly made its way back to Miami. Even though the staff was top rate on the Sky, I will not sail again on NCL.
