I went on this cruise with my husband, my parents, and my brother and his wife. We chose this cruise because of our preference for Eastern Caribbean ports and interest in getting away from the rowdiness and younger families you find on some ships. If you don't feel like reading my novel below, here are the high points:
- Dining averaged out to pretty good. Had a bad experience at a specialty restaurant but enjoyed main dining and some of the other poolside eateries.
- Cabin/overall all layout of ship was good.

Half Moon Cay
No shade for loungers on the beach. Have to pay extra for shaded lounge chairs.
Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)
Probably would have been cool but the port's Aqua Zone was closed to Holland America passengers. Only Carnival passengers were permitted entry.
