We sailed on the Spirit in 2013 for my 60th where better to celebrate my husband's 65th!

We loved her then and still do. Appreciated there had been a couple of refurbs and noticed the engine when sitting at rear of Windows wasn't so noise and vibrated less than last time.

Staff were very cheerful and used our names especially our waiters in the bars.

Port Reviews

Santorini

Just amazing! Though beware check prices before ordering drinks, We stopped for coffee at a bar with a very small balcony (no seats on balcony and at most 6 tables inside). A capiciuno and a tea - €11. Place didn't have toilets either. We were only customers others just walked in went to balcony took pics and walked out!

Athens (Piraeus)

We took the green metro to the opposite end of the Acropolis and it was much quieter than the main entrance. Lovely outlook from the coffee shops on the way and some stalls with reasonably priced souvenirs.

As we approached the queue for tickets, we looked up at the Acropolis and could see it looked a difficult walk up and I'm not very good with steps etc. So we walked around the surrounding area and just enjoyed the views.

Malta (Valletta)

Nice up in Mdina. We took a lovely trip on the Hop on Hop off bus to Mdina. Our mistake though was to take a different route with the bus back to Valletta as it took us through some beautiful country side but then along the coastal resorts which we didn't find to our taste. Should have gone straight back tomValletta and had a walk around town.

Taormina (Messina)

Nice place to visit. We like to get to know what's in the ports when we visit for first time.

This was very enjoyable.

Naples

Having visited Naples before, we decided to go to Sorrento. Gorgeous mix of wee streets to stroll round and we walked to the edge to look down on the port below!

It's whetted our appetite for a return visit next spring to the Amalfi coast for a week and that's when we'll take a day and visit Pompeii.
