In general we liked the Getaway. We are long term NCL travelers! This was our 7th transatlantic crossing so we knew what to expect. The first 5 days of bad weather forced most passengers inside. This showed many congestion areas - worst of which are the atrium and the Savoy/Taste dining areas. NCL carried similar Atrium design from the Epic which is very poor. You have a movie screen and customer service in a high noise area. Also the chairs in the atrium are huge -designed for 7 ft tall 400 lb people - why??Also the Quiet Areas and next to the atrium - so they are not quiet. Once the weather improved we loved the new Waterfront, a great idea. Also the deck areas are excellent - lots of sunning areas. We found the main dining room - Tropicana to be excellent. Service was good and the dance floor concept is outstanding (But I might note that the maintenance of the floor was poor - looked beaten up) The Savoy/Taste dining areas did not fare as well. Access is very crowded and service was so-so. The Buffet was always crowded and we were most disappointed in how static the meal selection was. Almost everything was the same for lunch and dinner. Normally we would expect some of the main dining room selection on the buffet - never found them. Getaway did add breakfast/lunch service in Moderno which was very nice and a good idea. We used the specialty restaurants a few times and they were excellent. The majority of the crew service was excellent. The Cruise Director and Future Cruise Manger were both outstanding. Also the technical briefing by the Captain and CD was super. NCL should expand this to a video for the TV. Speaking of the TV, no schedule of what would be shown was provided, so everything was hit or miss, not good! Entertainment was one of the best we have seen - the shows were excellent and Howl at the Moon was super. The ship did and execellent job organizing disembarkment.

Cabin Review

Family Inside Stateroom

Cabin I1

At 135 SF - this is one of the smallest and poorest design cabins we have stayed in. Even the Epic was better. The closet is tiny and very limited stowage. One would guess NCL is not interested in the inside cabin customer. The bathroom was a bright spot. I would also not that the top sheet always appeared to be too small when the beds are together.
