I chose this cruise for a few reasons. Firstly, it was a great price. Repositioning cruises are bargains! This allowed me to upgrade to balcony. Fantastic choice on my part. Fell in love with balcony cabins. I have always been happy with inside, but now I am spoiled. I had cabin 9264, port side. Sun on my balcony every day. Looked out on ports when we docked. The cabins are excactly as the photos online show. My steward Rudi was quiet, but very professional and considerate of my constant use of the do not disturb light. The food was excellent all the way around. Although I usually eat at the reastaurants for all meals, I ate mostly at the Garden Buffet this time. Why? Because my first breakfast in Taste took an hour to get to the table! Two eggs, bacon and croissants should never take that long. However, this gave me time to explore the possibilities of the buffet....more bacon, quick self-service etc. The food there, I discovered, was exactly the same as the restaurants, but you get to pick and choose, no waiting and it was well cooked. One dinner...filet of beef, garlic fried shrimp and lamb chop went on my plate! I travel usually alone and found this time the buffet fitted me perfectly. The Moderno buffet is a little quieter, but the same thing. Did not go to any shows. The art auctions I have done before. The art is way overvalued. If you love it, buy it. If you expect it to appreciate in value, it probably will not. Trust me! The Azores were amazingly beautiful. Bermuda as picturesque as they say. The voyage was smooth sailing all the way. I wanted a quiet vacation to do nothing but chill and that is what I got. Fellt like I had been gone a month. There is plenty to do aboard the Getaway. Your choice to do lots or nothing. I read about 10 books. The library is small and needs a bigger, better selection, but the choices change every day. The staff were all great. I always enjoy my Norwegian cruises. Love the freestyle cruising. Everyone one I met was having a super time. Ignore any nay-sayers. There are always a few of them wherever you go. If you are thinking about a Transatlantic and /or the Getaway, just go for it. I had an awesome time ; )

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BB

The rooms are fine. Washrooms good size. Always kept immaculate by steward. The balcony itself is not large, but suited me fine. Would choose this type of cabin again in a heartbeat...and will
