We are a party of 4 first time cruisers . myself & my partner and our elderly mothers ..one of whom is in a wheelchair . we booked 2 aft balcony cabins deck 9 which we thought where fantastic for wat we paid . we booked cruise only with royal carribean and i booked flights with a budjet airline from the uk and we had 2 nights in Barcelona either side of our cruise . I had booked everything online and we arrived at the ship for 12 noon on the 1st of November . The checkin was superbly efficient and we where onboard within 20 minutes ..our cabins where ready by 1pm and luggage had arrived by 2pm .
We found the cabins to be spotlessly clean and well furnished . The furnishings had all been updated from the photographs on royal carribeans website and the beds were so comfy we didnt want to get out !Our stateroom attendant was excellent at his job and in fact every member of crew that we came into contact with where amazingly attentive to my mother . her being in a wheel chair was initially a worry but everyone did everything possible to help us .
The weather was'nt very kind to us which i suppose is a chance you have to take when cruising the med in early winter . we had to miss out Livorno and change from marseille to Toulon but this in no way effected our enjoyment on this cruise. In fact we were caught up in extremly high winds called the mistral on our last night aboard over 50km an hour ...draws and doors where opening , windows rattling , the boat creaking and rocking and rolling but at no time did we feel we where in danger ..suprisingly none of us where seasick and in fact my mother thought it was hilarious !we loved every minute .
We were in aft cabin 9690 on deck nine . it had a great balcony ...was very comfortable and we loved it ..would definatly go aft again even if the cabins are were a bit more rocky during the bad weather .
