This was only our 2nd cruise. Last one was 20 years ago on Royal Caribbean Song of America to Bermuda. We loved our cruise. Room was wonderful. We had a Jr. suite (1540). It was so nice and big with a nice balcony. The bathroom was big and had a tub and shower and lots of storage places for all our stuff. And it was very quiet. We also had coffee and fruit and muffins delivered to our room each morning. The food was fantastic. We ate all of our dinners in the main dining room and thoroughly enjoyed all of our meals. We sat with 4 other people and very much enjoyed getting to know them. We also ate at the Windjammer buffet for snacks and some breakfasts. The food there was also great. Each night about 9-10 pm we went to the Park Café by the pool for coffee and pastry. It was so relaxing. We did not go to any shows so I can not comment on that. We took 1 excursion to Acadia Park which was great but we did not book thru the ship. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful.

Only ONE THING was upsetting. We had prepaid our gratuities ($33 per day). Friends of ours had told us that we could also tip someone extra if we thought they had gone above and beyond. So...the last day we find an envelope on our bed from the cabin steward basically asking for more money. I was not happy. It was very uncomfortable. An extra tip would have been at our discretion. This is not what it felt like. He was ok but not what I would call extra special. We put $20 in it and gave it to him. We told him what we had put inside and my husband ask him what people normally put in there. He said "20..30..50...20 minimum" NONE of our friends who have 500+ sea nights on cruses have EVER had an envelope left in their room! So how common is this? Anyone else had this experience?? This was a blemish on an otherwise perfect vacation.
